About the journal
Advanced Robotics is an international, peer reviewed journal, publishing high-quality, original research. Please see the journal’s Aims & Scope for information about its focus and peer-review policy.
Please note that this journal only publishes manuscripts in English.
This journal accepts the following article types: Full Papers; Survey Papers; Short Papers.
There are three categories of papers:
Full Papers: Research reports with originality, including reports on experiments, development of theory, or technological application feasibility. They should not exceed 6000 words.
Survey Papers: Systematically compiled survey in the particular field, not limited to achievements of the specific research. They should not exceed 6000 words.
Short Papers: New technological ideas and approaches calling for quick announcement. They should not exceed 3500 words.
Word count above does not include table captions, figure captions, biographical note and acknowledgement.
Abstracts of up to 100 words for Short Papers or 200 words for Full/Survey Papers are required for all papers submitted.
Authors should select one or more research field(s) from the list in the submission site when paper is submitted.
After the paper is accepted authors are requested to supply a short biographical note for each author.
Open Access
You have the option to publish open access in this journal via our Open Select publishing program. Preparing your paper
Structure
Abstracts of up to 100 words for Short Papers or 200 words for Full/Survey Papers are required for all papers submitted.
Word limits
Please include a word count for your paper.
A typical Full Paper for this journal should be no more than 6000 words; this limit does not include tables; figure captions; biographical note.
A typical Survey Paper for this journal should be no more than 6000 words; this limit does not include tables; figure captions; biographical note.
A typical Short Paper for this journal should be no more than 3500 words; this limit does not include tables; figure captions; biographical note.
Papers that greatly exceed these extents will not be eligible for entry into the peer review process.
Style guidelines
Please refer to these style guidelines when preparing your paper, rather than any published articles or a sample copy.
Please use any spelling consistently throughout your manuscript.
Please use single quotation marks, except where ‘a quotation is “within” a quotation’. Please note that long quotations should be indented without quotation marks.
Long quotations of 50 words or more should be indented with quotation marks.
No changes – neither the addition nor the removal of a co-author – can be made to the list of co-authors after the article is accepted, unless submitted in writing by all authors including the person being added or removed, with the reasons for addition or removal, and thereafter agreed by the editor of the journal.
Formatting and templates
Papers may be submitted in any standard format, including Word and LaTeX. All files, including LaTex files, tables, figures and captions, should be embedded into the PDF prior to submission because ScholarOne Manuscripts is not able to convert files into PDFs directly. However, once a manuscript is accepted, figures, tables and captions should be saved separately from the text. To assist you in preparing your paper, we provide formatting templates.
