2.2. How to Submit

The system converts your article files to a single PDF file used in the peer-review process. Editable files (e.g., Word) are required to typeset your article for final publication. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by e-mail.
2.3. Reviewer Recommendation
Authors could suggest several potential reviewers by providing the names and institutional e-mail addresses. Authors should not suggest reviewers who are colleagues, or who have co-authored or collaborated with you during the last three years. Editors would not invite reviewers who have potential competing interests with the authors.
Note: the editor decides whether or not to invite the reviewers you suggested.
3. Manuscript Preparation
3.1. Language
Please write the text in good English. Possible grammatical or spelling errors should be carefully avoided, making the submissions conform to accepted standards of written technical English. The Journal’s editors are not responsible for correcting errors in grammar or spelling. Manuscripts that require extensive English revision may be rejected without review.
3.2. Length of manuscripts
There are no strict limits on the number of published pages for both research and review articles. Nevertheless, authors are asked to make the manuscript as concise as possible and to limit to less than 50 manuscript pages.
3.3. Article types
Oral Science and Homeostatic Medicine publishes six types of papers: Research Article, Review Article, Letter, Case report, Commentary and Perspective.
- Research Article: Articles should be limited to approximately 5,000 words in the main text (excluding the title page, references, figure legends, tables, and figures) and include no more than 45 references, with a total of 6 figures and tables.
- Review Article: Review papers should provide a comprehensive overview of recent advances in a research field, with no more than 10 figures and tables and approximately 10,000 words (excluding references).
- Letter: Letters offer a concise report of novel findings of the field. These should include a maximum of 1,500 words in the main text, and have no more than 10 references and 2 figures/tables.
- Case Report: Case reports should describe clinical cases that include unusual presentation of a disease, therapeutic challenges, new associations in disease processes, or unusual adverse reactions. Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from patients or their guardians. Case reports should be limited to approximately 3,500 words in the main text, with no more than 20 references and 3 figures/tables in total.
- Commentary: These are short and focused articles on current advances of a certain topic within the journal's scope. Commentaries should be limited to approximately 2,000 words in the main text, with no more than 15 references and 2 figures/tables.
- Perspective: Perspectives are brief reviews that provide a leading scientist’s viewpoint on his/her area of research and prospects for future development of the field. These should be limited to approximately 3,000 words in the main text, with no more than 20 references and 2 figures/tables.
3.4. Text formatting
For submission in Microsoft Word, use a normal, plain font (e.g., 12-point Times New Roman), one space line, and two columns for text. Use the automatic page numbering function to number the pages. Do not use field functions. Use tab stops or other commands for indents, not the space bar. Use the table function, not spreadsheets, to make tables. Use the equation editor or MathType for equations. Note: If you use Word 2007, do not create the equations with the default equation editor but use MathType instead.
