Guide for Authors
INTRODUCTION
Types of paper
Contributions falling into the following categories will be considered for publication:
Editorials
Special invitations from the Editor-in-Chief or experts to introduce or comment on elements of an issue, e.g. background topics, organization concepts, and key contents. An editorial should not exceed 2,000 words (two printed pages).
Reviews
These should summarize and comment on the most recent progress and significant achievements in a specific scientific research field, and put forward key research directions for the future. Reviews should not exceed 15,000 words (15 printed pages) and should include an abstract of up to 250 words. They may include up to five key words and 150 references.
Articles
Reports on the latest research results of innovative and important scientific significance. Articles are limited to 10,000 words (10 printed pages) and should include an abstract of up to 250 words. They may include up to five key words and up to 60 references. Supporting information may include details of the experimental processes, materials, equipment, and other auxiliary experimental data. This should be attached as Supplementary Information, which will only be published online.
Short Communications
These offer an opportunity to rapidly and creatively provide a brief description of the most cutting-edge research and findings to our wide readership. Short Communications should not exceed 2,000 words (two printed pages) and may include up to 15 references. An abstract and keywords are not required. The supporting information should be attached as Supplementary Information, which will only be published online.
Perspectives
Written from your personal viewpoint, these briefly introduce current breakthroughs and substantial achievements in certain fast-developing scientific disciplines, comment on both scientific and creative points, and consider potential future developments. Perspectives are limited to 2,000 words (two printed pages) and may include up to 15 references. An abstract and keywords are not required.
Research Highlights
These highlight and briefly introduce scientific research achievements that have recently been published in academic journals, and comment on particularly innovative themes and scientific guidelines. Research Highlights should not exceed 1,000 words (1.5 printed pages) and may include up to five references. An abstract and keywords are not required.
News and Views
Written from your personal viewpoint, they briefly introduce or comment on the latest scientific news, plans, policies, and other progress significantly impacting green sustainable development. News and Views are limited to 1,000 words (one printed page) and may include up to five references. An abstract and keywords are not required.
Commentaries
These offer an opportunity to comment on and discuss a specific research direction or a recent scientific issue of broad interest, and propose detailed suggestions with strong coupling and potential. Commentaries should not exceed 1,000 words (one printed page) and may include up to five references. An abstract and keywords are not required.
Interviews
Interviews with experts and scholars in the field of green chemistry and chemical engineering with a focus on core, and particularly hot issues. Interviews are limited to 2,000 words (two printed pages) and may include up to five references. An abstract, keywords, and references are not required.
Correspondences
These rectify, discuss, and reply to recent publications in GCE. Correspondences are limited to one printed page and may include up to five references. An abstract and keywords are not required.
Featured institutions
An opportunity to introduce the main research directions and significant achievements of research institutions or groups based within China or overseas. Please ensure that you select the appropriate article type from the list of options when making your submission. Authors contributing to special issues should ensure that they select the special issue article type from this list.
