Bangladesh Journal of Pharmacology
Information For Authors
Interested in submitting to this journal? Please read carefully about the Manuscript submission guideline before submitting the manuscript. We do not charge any fee from the author(s) in the form of article processing fee or publication fee. We do not receive any manuscript by email. You have to submit it online after registration to the journal which is free. It takes about 120 days from the date of submission to acceptance.
Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.
Types of Manuscript
Bangladesh Journal of Pharmacology mainly publishes six varieties of articles:
Research Article
Clinical Trial
Mini-Review
Meta-Analysis
Letter to the Editor
Visual Experiment
While submitting your manuscript online for the first time to the Bangladesh Journal of Pharmacology, the corresponding author must select the type of manuscript. If you are not a new one to Bangladesh Journal of Pharmacology, it is not a problem at all.
Style and Format
Style and format are important while writing and submission of manuscript to Bangladesh Journal of Pharmacology. That is why, you have to read this section carefully. In addition, refer to a current issue of the Bangladesh Journal Pharmacology for the correct style and format.
File format
Manuscript files should be in MSWord (DOC or DOCX). The documents should not be password protected.
PDF files or other formats are not allowed.
Length
The number of words in the different types of manuscripts varies. However, restrictions are applicable in some sections (abstract and Introduction) of Research Article and Letter to the Editor. The number of Figures and Tables must be reduced in number. The most appropriate one should be included. Sometimes Tables or Figures are merged in order to reduce the number of Figures or Tables.
We encourage you to present your findings in the result section concisely. However, Dicussion section should be detailed and elaborate mainly on your positive findings.
Font
The text font will be "Book Antique" and its size will be 9 points, except for the font named “Symbol”. Please use the font size to 8 points in case of references.
To add symbols to the manuscript, first place the cursor in the text where the symbol will be inserted. Then go to the INSERT menu bar and find the Symbol submenu bar in your MSWord file. Click the symbol submenu bar and choice the appropriate symbol and insert it within the text.
Subheadings
Use subheadings in the Materials and Methods section, as well as the Results section. There will be no subheading in the Discussion section.
Layout and spacing
The manuscript text should be 1.5 spaced.
Do not format the texts in multiple columns just like the printed PDF format article. Please type it as a normal file. We shall format it after acceptance.
The color of the whole text should be black only.
Page and line numbers
Include the page number at the bottom of each page.
We prefer not to use any line numbers within the submitted manuscript.
Footnotes
Footnotes are not permitted except in the Figure and Table.
Language
The manuscript must be written in American English. Please avoid British English. The use of both American and British English is strongly discouraged.
Numbers in Text
Writing out numbers from one to nine in words and using numerals for all other numbers. If a number falls at the beginning of a sentence, it should be written out in words.
In a situation where abbreviations are used, use numerals, not number words, with the abbreviations. For example, 5 mL instead of “five mL”; 100 mL instead of “one hundred mL”.
In case of all data, use one digit after period. Exception is in case of statistical data like p<0.05.
Abbreviations
Define commonly used abbreviations upon the first appearance in the text both in Abstract and the rest of the manuscript (e.g., Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
The use of abbreviation(s) within the text must be minimum. It is better to avoid it.
Equations
It is recommended to use MathType for display and inline equations. This will provide the most reliable outcome. As an alternative, you can use Equation Editor or Microsoft's Insert → Equation function is acceptable.
