My journey began in Linhai County, an ancient city in Zhejiang Province with more than 2000 years of history. As I arrived, I was immediately struck by the majestic city wall that overlooked the city, reminiscent of the Great Wall of Beijing. It was clear that this wall had safeguarded the city in the past, and its steep steps were a testament to the city's strategic importance.
As I explored further, I discovered a landscape of lush green mountains and hills, with clean, clear fountains flowing throughout. The vibrant flowers blooming in every corner added to the breathtaking scenery. I couldn't help but be captivated by the beauty that surrounded me.
Wandering through Ziyang Street, I marveled at the ancient buildings that lined each side of the lake, housing shops selling local food and specialty items. The narrow lanes that snaked around the city wall revealed an array of intricate windows, crafted from bricks and stones. The simplicity and elegance of these designs reminded me of a plain, yet beautiful cake.
As the sun sets, the streets are filled with the enticing aroma of home-cooked meals from every household, tantalizing my taste buds. The lantern-lit streets transport me to a time filled with ancient traditions and captivating scenery, as if I've stepped into another era.
My exploration of Linhai County continued with a visit to the serene East Lake.
