冬天是积蓄酝酿的季节，是孕育希望的季节，是激发灵感的季节，是审慎筹划的季节。为全面提升我市小学英语教育教学质量，增强教师教学基本功，强化语音培训效果，优化教师语音素养，教师教育发展服务中心陈儒亭主任精心组织了首届全市小学英语教师“英语朗读者”评比展示活动。
英语的美如何呈现？英语教师的魅力如何体现？教英语首先应该教好什么？学英语首先应该学好什么？让我们回归本真，朔源而上！
语言之美主要体现在语音的准确性和节奏的韵律感，只有在朗读中，在自然地道的语流里才能更好地展示出清晰规范的语音和抑扬顿挫的节奏，才能更好地体现出语言表达的准确、生动，贴切、入心。英语朗读通过重音、连读、节奏、语调等技巧把语言材料中的思想感情表达出来，作为教师，更要不断提高朗读水平。朗读在常规教学中对提高学生学习英语的兴趣起着至关重要的作用，因此，英语教师务必做到发音准确，语流流畅，语调自然，通过自身的良好示范潜移默化地帮助学生打好英语学习的基础。
本次活动的主题是“I am an English Teacher”，参与者主要包括近两年优质课和教学基本功等专业比赛的一等奖获得者及学科中心组成员等教师。36位老师经过精心的准备，或将自己的从教经历娓娓道来；或分享自己的教育感悟引人深思，形式多样的风格把我们带入了一个多彩的英语世界。

孟老师的作品主要分享了自己工作中的困惑以及所感所悟。作为一名年轻的英语教师，在工作中除了要学习如何上好课，更要学习如何教育学生。教育植根于爱，只有用爱才能教育孩子。教育也应当是互相尊重的，用心灵赢得心灵，用人格影响人格。只有给孩子爱与尊重，教育才能真正有成效。
Good morning, ladies and gentleman. My name’s Meng Xianghui, an English teacher from Qufu Experimental Primary School. It’s my great honor to share my teaching experiences with you.
It was my dream to become a teacher. After graduating from university, I started my job in teaching English with full of energy. I’ve been an English teacher for about four years. I found it’s not easy to be a good teacher. It’s important that a good English teacher should master English very well. But that’s not enough. The more important thing is to love students continuously. Along the way, I really realized the truth of being an English teacher.
Having been engaged in English teaching in primary school for many years, I have always been confused about the English teaching in the Middle Age (fourth grade), which I am teaching now. Why is that? Because the fourth grade children are active, playful, and have a short time to concentrate. Most of them do not observe what they say and they are often self-centered. In the past, in order to maintain the dignity of our teachers, I would criticize them in a strict way, but the effect was only temporary. As time passed, the students' learning effect was not good and their interest in learning was not high. This cannot be just the students' fault. Of course, my teaching mentality also needs to be changed.
I learn to respect and love my students as their friends, work hard with full responsibility. Therefore, I could enjoy myself while teaching, too. How do I enjoy myself with my students? I don’t think I can express how I love my students in a few words now. I just know, they are the future and they are infinity in my hand. What could I do with them? To wait, to be patient, to expect and to love. From them, every teacher must see their future, teaching and guiding them responsibly. I also learn to be more tolerant of children. Let students get happiness in self-confidence. When I tolerate students, I also get more respect and happiness!
People often say that teachers are the engineers of the human soul. Now it’s not only a job, but also a responsibility for me. That is why I together with you, try our best to be an excellent English teacher today!
