冬天是积蓄酝酿的季节,是孕育希望的季节,是激发灵感的季节,是审慎筹划的季节。为全面提升我市小学英语教育教学质量,增强教师教学基本功,强化语音培训效果,优化教师语音素养,教师教育发展服务中心陈儒亭主任精心组织了首届全市小学英语教师“英语朗读者”评比展示活动。
英语的美如何呈现?英语教师的魅力如何体现?教英语首先应该教好什么?学英语首先应该学好什么?让我们回归本真,朔源而上!
语言之美主要体现在语音的准确性和节奏的韵律感,只有在朗读中,在自然地道的语流里才能更好地展示出清晰规范的语音和抑扬顿挫的节奏,才能更好地体现出语言表达的准确、生动,贴切、入心。英语朗读通过重音、连读、节奏、语调等技巧把语言材料中的思想感情表达出来,作为教师,更要不断提高朗读水平。朗读在常规教学中对提高学生学习英语的兴趣起着至关重要的作用,因此,英语教师务必做到发音准确,语流流畅,语调自然,通过自身的良好示范潜移默化地帮助学生打好英语学习的基础。
本次活动的主题是“I am an English Teacher”,参与者主要包括近两年优质课和教学基本功等专业比赛的一等奖获得者及学科中心组成员等教师。36位老师经过精心的准备,或将自己的从教经历娓娓道来;或分享自己的教育感悟引人深思,形式多样的风格把我们带入了一个多彩的英语世界。

Good morning, My name is Cao Xiaowei,an English teacher from WuYuTan Primary school.I have been an English teacher for about 5 years. The day when I become a teacher, I hope to become a friend of my students. When I stand on this stage, I know that I make it because my students and I are good friends through the story time in class.
Students need to be instructed and story time in the class is definitely a good way to inspire and instruct them. At the very first beginning when I proposed that we could role play the story time in the class, my students were anxious because most of them neither have performance experience, nor they knew many English words. However, I believed that it would be a great chance for them to learn English in a fun and meaningful way. Therefore, I encouraged them and promised that I would be with them no matter what difficulties they met.
When we began, we found that there were more difficulties than we thought. For instance, some students were too shy to stand on the stage; some students would forget the lines during the performance, which made them embarrassed. To solve these problems, I would perform with them. For the students who were too shy, I would often stand by them so that they knew that they had my support. Gradually, they could conquer the fear on the stage and boldly expressed. For students who forgot the lines, I would remind them time to time. More importantly, I would teach them skills how to memorize these lines. To be honest, students were very talented and they could master the techniques quickly.
Once, I found that one of the students wrote the lines on their palms. When I noticed his palms, he immediately hid them behind. Instead of scolding him, I kindly said to them, “It is okay to do so if you really can not memorize these lines. But I look forward to your performance without looking at your palms”. In his next performance, he really wiped out the lines on his palms. Although he still forgot some lines, he had an excellent performance. I praised him, which made him happy. After performance, I would give them some presents like candies as rewards so that they could be more active.
Currently, whenever there is story time, they will be excited, because they know I will learn and play with them again. More importantly, I can feel that they like English more. In the past, few of them would raise their hands when I asked questions, but right now, they will try their best to answer the questions. The proverb that “interests are the best teachers???is really justified here. With interest, students will not feel tired when they are learning. More importantly, they love to discuss with me on the roles they play right now, which shortens the distance between us. We are more like friends, which is something that I want to achieve all the time.
In the near future, I will make the best advantage of the class materials to make my class funnier so that my students can really feel the charm of English.
