other

1. other常指（两者之中）另一个。

I have two brothers. One is Jack, the other is Tom.

我有两个弟弟，一个是杰克，另一个是汤姆。

one...the other...两者中的“一个......另一个......”

2.后面接可数名词单数或复数，意思是“别的”；另外的；其他的

I'll come to see you some other day.

我改天再来看你。

Did he buy other people presents?

他给其他人买礼物了吗？

3.other其他的用法

（1）Shanghai is larger than any other city in China.

上海比中国的任何其他城市都要大。

（2）Some people prefer coffee, while others prefer tea.

有些人喜欢咖啡，而其他人喜欢茶。

some...others  没有范围的“一些......另一些...”，但不是全体

（3）Some of the books are on the shelf, while the others are in the box.

一些书在书架上，而其他的在盒子里。

some...the others  某一范围内的“一些......其他的”，全体

（4）She goes to the gym  to exercise every other day.

她每隔一天到健身房锻炼身体。

“every other day” 意思是“隔一天；每隔一天”。

1.“another” 通常用作形容词或代词，意思是“另一个，另外的”。用于三者以上

Can I have another slice of pizza?

我可以再来一片比萨吗？

2.another+数词+复数名词

He wants to stay her for another two days

他想再在这里呆两天。
