01
最初投稿 Coverletter
Cover letter是编辑对论文的第一印象，也是初步评判你论文是否可以被期刊接收的重要依据（如果编辑看完Cover letter之后没有兴趣也没有，就没戏了），因此Cover letter的撰写是非常重要的。
一、原样复制摘要。很多作者为了省事，直接把论文原文的摘要复制到cover letter。这是编辑非常反感的行为，同时也部分反映了作者不重视此次投稿的态度，给编辑留下一个不好的印象。
二、太多专业用语。对于一个编辑来讲，虽然他们都是“身经百战”，各种稿件都见到过。但每个编辑有其重点的研究领域，所谓“隔行如隔山”，其他领域的稿件不一定能够看懂，所以这个反映了cover letter需要通俗易懂的句子来更好的表达观点。
三、太多论文细节。Cover letter的目的不是讨论论文细节，细节可以参考论文原文就好了。
四、太多的语法错误。这个错误最为致命，这是因为如果一封cover letter里面包含太多语法错误的话，很容易让编辑怀疑其论文全文也包含很多语法错误，造成返修甚至拒稿的后果。
五、过分夸大论文意义。论文的意义需要客观地在cover letter描述，过多的夸大论文的意义很容易让人怀疑其背后论文的严谨性。
六、Cover letter太长。每个编辑每天都需要审阅大量的论文，cover letter的作用就是让编辑快速了解论文的主要内容和创新点。如果cover letter过长的话就失去了其原有的作用和意义了。一般来讲，cover letter需要限制在一页以内。
完整的Cover letter一般包含以下内容：
A. 期刊编辑的姓名（不知道编辑是谁的情况下直接用Dear editor）;
B. 投稿文章的标题
C. 投稿文章的类型（Letter, communications, article, review还是comments）
D. 文章简介，包括：(1)研究背景；(2)论文的重要发现；(3)论文可以发表在期刊上的原因：引发读者兴趣的地方，与期刊的契合之处等等
E. 稿件出版道德规范的免责说明（这个部分很多期刊在网站上投稿时会进行确认，cover letter里面可以不出现）以及对稿件有无特殊处理要求（一般指屏蔽某些竞争者成为审稿人）
F. 作者信息：一般为通讯作者姓名，所属机构，通讯地址，联系电话，邮箱等
G. 推荐审稿人名单（注：目前很多杂志社已经将这一部分挪到了投稿网站系统上，Cover letter中可以不再列出
撰写cover letter的关键点
1. 直奔主题
Coverletter要简明扼要，介绍该领域目前已有的信息，然后说明我们的研究目标、创新点、结论。Cover letter无需长篇大论。
2. 不要复制摘要
切忌将论文摘要整段复制作为我们的coverletter。有很多期刊就会明确指出该操作不被允许。Cover letter 是一个集中展示我们论文重点信息的附件，就像我们写新闻报道中的导语一样，所以不能随便应付了之。
3. 要通俗易懂
此处就不要为了“高大上”而去使用太多专业术语，用更加通俗易懂的阐述，有利于编辑更快的做出决定。
4. 对编辑的称谓性别要中立
因为不知道期刊的编辑性别，所以在称呼上要注意，例如使用“尊敬的编辑”，不要固定称为“亲爱的先生”或“亲爱的女士”。
Cover letter的基本内容
1.必填项目
1）收信人也就是期刊编辑的名字
2）稿件标题
3）简要说明研究的背景、目标和发现
4）简要解释稿件为何与期刊读者相关
5）对于多作者的论文，声明所有作者均已认可该手稿并同意将其提交至该期刊
6）声明文中没有任何材料已经出版，并且目前没有提交至其它地方请求出版
2. 选填项目
1）潜在审稿人名单(姓名和联系方式)
2）有助于增强期刊编辑对论文的兴趣的信息，例如数据的新颖性和时事性
3）声明不存在利益冲突，或者声明存在的各种利益冲突或可能相关的许可信息
4）有关使用预印本服务器的信息和预印本链接，或者论文中的工作是否曾在某些会议文集中进行报道
3. 隐藏项目
1）作者的简历和出版史(除非期刊要求)
2）过多结果和方法部分中的细节介绍(编辑会通过阅读文章来找到这些信息)
3）使用非正式语言、感叹号或过于正式和谄媚的语言

催稿信
很多作者等待很久仍不见审稿意见，难免会有抱怨。但是，在写催稿邮件时不要把情绪带到里面，催稿邮件的内容要婉转、语气平和；注意不要频繁催稿，掌握一个合适的频率。可以对自己催稿的原因作一个简单的说明，比如即将毕业、申报职称、课题即将结项等等，此外还要注明文章的编号、标题、投稿时间等基本信息。

返稿延期申请
如果返修意见中需要补充的内容太多，杂志给的返修时间不够，这时就需要在时限之前给编辑去信申请延长修稿时间。杂志编辑通常也会在返回评审的邮件中提到这点，所以只要合理，放心去申请就好。
