The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a PhD candidate to conduct research in Empirical Finance.
Your Role...
The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Thorsten Lehnert. The doctoral researcher’s main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of Empirical Finance. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be jointly-supervised with another university. The doctoral candidate will contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.
The doctoral researcher will benefit from being part of a large research group comprising several PhDs working on related topics. The doctoral researcher will be a member of the Department of Finance, which is located in the financial center of Luxembourg at Campus Kirchberg. The department consists of research-oriented faculty members and provides an international and stimulating environment with regular research seminars and several high-quality conferences. The department collaborates with the Luxembourg financial center, the European Stability Mechanism, the Central Bank of Luxembourg and other financial institutions located in Luxembourg.
Qualifications...
We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated interest in Finance. In particular, the following requirements apply:
• A Master’s Degree in Finance.
• Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English and a good understanding of a second language, German or French in particular, will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
