技巧点拨

（1）插入结构的翻译：插入语翻译有两种方式，一是提到整体提到所在句子主干之外，一是放原处。

（2）代词的翻译：考研翻译中放在句首的代词必须找到其指代的对象，并翻译出来，故句首的that必须在上句话中找出其指代对象a breakthrough, 译为“这一突破”。

（3）定语从句的翻译：定语从句内容比较长，或者结构比较复杂的，通常把定从与主句分开，采用重复先行词或者用代词代替先行词的方法来翻译。That will ultimately ….句修饰的先行词为前面的表语中心词beginning。但是如果对这个定语从句的先行词定位不是特别准确，那么在定从的翻译中还有一个小技巧：直接用汉语的代词来重复先行词；甚至不用重复先行词，直接组合在后面就可以。只要整个汉语的译文通顺即可。此处可以采用这一小技巧。
