Aims and scope
Journal of Essential Oil Research ( JEOR) is the major forum for the publication of essential oil research and analysis. Each issue includes studies performed on the chemical composition of some of the 20,000 aromatic plants known in the plant kingdom. JEOR is devoted entirely to all phases of research from every corner of the world by the experts in their field. JEOR's main areas of focus include:
Analytical chemistry
Biological activity
Biotechnology
Chemical composition
Chemical synthesis
Chemosystematics
Microbiological activity
Plant biochemistry/biosynthesis
Toxicology
Published six times per year, JEOR provides articles on the aromatic principles of a plant or its isolates and are directed toward furthering our readers' knowledge of the aromatic plant and animal kingdoms.
Peer Review Statement
Journal of Essential Oil Research is an international, peer-reviewed journal which publishes high quality, original research contributions to scientific knowledge. All manuscript submissions are subject to initial appraisal by the Editorin-Chief, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is single blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.
Authors can choose to publish gold open access in this journal.

Please note that this journal only publishes manuscripts in English.
Journal of Essential Oil Research accepts the following types of article: Original Articles, Review Article and Book Review.
Journal of Essential Oil Research considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that
the manuscript is your own original work, and does not duplicate any other previously published work, including your own previously published work.
the manuscript has been submitted only to Journal of Essential Oil Research; it is not under consideration or peer review or accepted for publication or in press or published elsewhere.
the manuscript contains nothing that is abusive, defamatory, libellous, obscene, fraudulent, or illegal.
Any author who fails to adhere to the above conditions will be charged with costs which Journal of Essential Oil Research incurs for their manuscript at the discretion of Journal of Essential Oil Research’s Editors and Taylor & Francis, and their manuscript will be rejected.
Open Access

Preparing Your Paper
Structure
Your paper should be compiled in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest statement; references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages); figures; figure captions (as a list).
Word Limits
Please include a word count for your paper. There are no word limits for papers in this journal.
Style Guidelines
Please refer to these quick style guidelines when preparing your paper, rather than any published articles or a sample copy.
Any spelling style is acceptable so long as it is consistent within the manuscript.
Please use single quotation marks, except where ‘a quotation is “within” a quotation’.
Please note that long quotations should be indented without quotation marks.
