Instructions to Authors
All authors should read the AIChE Ethical Guidelines, AIChE Code of Ethics, and Wiley Review Confidentiality Policy.
Submission of Manuscripts
Online Electronic Submission (preferred method of submission).AIChE is pleased to offer author web-based submission and peer-review through One Manuscripts (preferred method of submission. Submit your manuscript online at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/aiche. Follow the instructions for creating an author account (if you are a first time user)and submitting a manuscript. Submit your manuscript as a Word, rtf, or LaTeX/TeX file (for text and tables)and tiff or eps (for figures). Other file types are not suitable for production. Please note that Manuscript Central does not accept a single file upload from the author.
Page Limits: For regular Research Articles, submissions should adhere to the following:
Text should be in 12 point font, double space, 1 inch by inch margins.
If the figures and tables are incorporated with the text the document length should be kept below 35 pages.
If the figures and tables are provided as separate file(s) then the total length (text + figures + tables) should be kept below 40 pages.
In either format there may be more than one figure or table per page.
Exceptions can be made with justification, to be approved by the Editor.
For Review Articles, submissions should adhere to the following:
If the figures and tables are incorporated with the text the document length should be kept below 50 pages.
If the figures and tables are provided as separate file(s) then the total length (text + figures + tables) should be kept below 55 pages.
Length may be warranted but approval must be sought with the Editor
LATeX Users: All files must be formatted in LaTeX version 2.02 or earlier. Figures must be formatted as either .tif or .eps files and saved separately. Directory structures should not be used when referencing external files. This will cause a corrupted upload into Manuscript Central and will result in the cancellation of manuscript submission. Class and style files may be either internal or external. Manuscript Central provides all standard LaTeX class files for author use; however, you may create your own. Please be sure to check the log file provided at submission to see if you are missing the class file from your document.
LaTeX File Submission Guidelines: Upload a PDF version of your manscript for review. Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, Zip-up the directory containing all your LaTex files. This includes the TeX document, all graphics as separate files, any class files, any bibliography files, and the PDF of the final version. This zip file can be uploaded as a single file into Manuscript Central.
If you have any questions about the online submission process, you may also contact the AIChE Journal Editorial office:
